Air China Cargo Co., Ltd., referred to as "Air China Cargo", is China's only cargo airline that carries the national flag. Headquartered in Beijing, it strategically positions its main operating base in Shanghai, one of the most vigorous economic centers in the country .Air China Cargo was founded on December 12, 2003，listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange（SZSE） on December 30, 2024，is the second listed company of China National Aviation Holding Company.

On March 18, 2011, Air China Limited (Air China) and Cathay Pacific Airways Limited (Cathay Pacific) completed a joint venture freight project with Air China Cargo as the platform. After the joint venture, Air China Cargo's Chinese and English names and its logo Remain unchanged. In 2017, China National Aviation Holding Company (CNAirHolding) officially launched the mixed ownership reform of air cargo logistics and decided to use China Aviation Capital Holdings Co., Ltd. (Capital Holdings) as the shareholding platform for the mixed reform. And take Air China Cargo as the mixed reform platform to integrate the cargo logistics enterprises under the CNAirHolding. In 2018, Air China transferred its shares of Air China Cargo to Capital Holdings. On October 31, 2019, Capital Holdings completed the capital increase to Air China Cargo. In the same year, Air China Cargo completed the integration of cargo and logistics companies, such as China Air Express Co., Ltd., under CNAirHolding. After the capital increase, the registered capital of Air China Cargo is 7.376 billion yuan. In October 2020, Air China Cargo identified Zhejiang Cainiao Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., Shenzhen International Holdings (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Guogai Shuangbai Innovation Equity Investment Partnership (Limited Partnership) as strategic investors by public selection and also identified Tianjin Yuchi Enterprise Management Partnership (Limited Partnership) as an employee shareholding platform to increase capital to Air China Cargo. In September 2021, Air China Cargo completed the capital increase procedure. After the capital increase, the registered capital of Air China Cargo was 10.69 billion yuan. In June 2022, Air China Cargo was changed from a limited company to a joint stock limited company. The company's operating period was changed from 30 years to a long-term one. The registered capital of the company remained unchanged at 10.69 billion yuan.

Air China Cargo owns 11 B777F freighters, 3 B747-400 freighters and 4 A332 freighters. In addition, Air China Cargo also exclusively operates the belly of all Air China passenger aircraft.

Relying on the logistics resources of CNAirHolding and Air China, as well as the close cooperation with the cargo terminals of the world's main aviation hubs, Air China Cargo has established a global cargo security system including Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Zhengzhou, Hangzhou, Taipei, Chicago, Madrid, Liege, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Osaka and other cities, thus being able to offer customers quality services.

Up to now, the number of routes operated by freighters reached 24, including 5 domestic routes, 18 international routes and 1 regional route, linking 21 major cities all over the world. In addition, Air China Cargo's strong dedicated freighter plus passenger flight belly operation network is further supplemented by more than 1,500 global ground trucking routes in Europe, North America, Japan, South Korea, Australia, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region, enabling cargo to reach all parts of the world timely and expediently.

With the development of the enterprise and the demand of the market, Air China Cargo obtained the 180-minute operation capability of the B777F ETOPS and became the first cargo airline in China to fly across the North Atlantic airspace; In 2018, the B757-200SF aircraft passed the supplementary approval of high altitude operation, and the company became the first cargo airline with high altitude operation qualification in China; At the end of 2021, the company successfully passed the CCAR-121-R7 supplementary operation certification, and the company's operation was further standardized, improving the company's operation safety margin.

It has successfully completed emergency relief charter flights in major disaster assistance such as the Wenchuan earthquake, the Pakistan earthquake, the Indian Ocean tsunami, the Mexican influenza A, the Chilean earthquake, the Japanese earthquake, the Ya'an earthquake, the Ebola epidemic in Liberia, and the Nepal earthquake. In 2020, in the face of the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, Air China Cargo successfully completed the transportation guarantee tasks of epidemic prevention materials and COVID-19 vaccine many times.
