China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group Co., Ltd. (CISRI)

China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group Co., Ltd. (CISRI) is a central enterprise directly managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC). Under the approval of SASAC, former Central Iron & Steel Research Institute (founded in 1952) was renamed as China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group Co., Ltd, and Automation Research and Design Institute of Metallurgical Industry (founded in 1973) was merged into CISRI. CISRI is the largest comprehensive R&D and high-tech industrialized institution in China’s metallurgical industry. In May 2009, under the approval of SASAC, it was restructured into a wholly state-owned company and its board of directors was set up.
