Volkswagen Automatic Transmission Tianjin Co., Ltd. (VWATJ) held a groundbreaking ceremony in TEDA in September 2012. The new plant is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and belongs to Volkswagen Group China. Taking the objective of introducing high-end and high-quality technologies, VWATJ will introduce six latest technologies in the next few years to improve efficiency and comfort and to make contribution to the development of SAIC Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen.

The Volkswagen Group takes the philosophy of “Global Environmental Protection”, and VWATJ is first “Think Blue” factory in China. In 2016, VWATJ won the honorary title of “Best Employer in China” as the first company winning this title in Tianjin.
